In the kitchen

Used in rose flower cakes. One bakery uses fresh petals, while earlier versions used jam filling.

One pastry-workshop method rubs petals with brown or white sugar and optionally honey before using the sweet rose filling. Other edible rose varieties exist, so Dianhong is not guaranteed for every pastry.
