Dijiao thyme infusion

Dijiao thyme infusion

地椒茶Dìjiāo chá

An aromatic herbal infusion made from dried dijiao, a local thyme used around Pengyang in Ningxia. Its leafy, spicy-herbal fragrance is different from chili heat; this is not ordinary tea-leaf tea.

Specification
Dry cleaned food-use dijiao stems and leaves, then steep them in hot water and strain. This representative version contains only the herb and water. Dijiao is a local plant name used for related thyme plants. Check the actual ingredient and any blend rather than treating all similarly named herbs as identical.

How to enjoy it

Sip after cooling to a comfortable temperature. Leave stems and leaves in the strainer; they are not a garnish to swallow.

A useful check

The selected herb-and-water infusion has no animal ingredients. Confirm blends separately; its name does not prove a caffeine-free product, and it is not a pepper or chili drink.
